Land and Crops
Soils deals with soil as a natural resource on the earth's surface, including its formation, classification and mapping, and the physical, chemical, biological and fertility properties of soils in general, as well as these properties in relation to land use. and management. Crop Sciences is the basis of the production and management of food, feed, fiber and energy crops to meet human needs and protect the environment.
Crop and Soil Science emphasizes the scientific components of agronomy, such as the use of plant genetics and breeding to improve plant yield, quality, and profit, and the optimization of physical, chemical, and microbial soil properties to improve crop production.
